{"id":179723,"date":"2017-11-15T19:07:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T00:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2017\/11\/15\/hackitude\/"},"modified":"2017-11-15T19:07:00","modified_gmt":"2017-11-16T00:07:00","slug":"hackitude","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2017\/11\/15\/hackitude\/","title":{"rendered":"Hackitude"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Of course, it&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/platform\/amp\/policy-and-politics\/2017\/11\/14\/16640082\/donna-brazile-warren-bernie-sanders-democratic-primary-rigged\">Ezra Klein who is the very modern model of cognitive dissonance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/TZTyat4.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/TZTyat4.png\" style=\"cursor: pointer; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px;\" width=\"150\" \/><\/a>He suggests that the Democratic establishment, of which the DNC is a part, tried to determine the outcome, and that somehow this is not an attempt to &#8220;rig&#8221; the primaries, because \u2026\u2026\u2026 Sparkle ponies.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s kind of like how he suggests that the DNC debate schedule, which foreclosed meaningful exposure to candidates not named &#8220;Clinton&#8221;, and the rules prohibiting other debates, weren&#8217;t an attempt to fix things because, &#8220;Debates are arguably her best medium,&#8221; despite the fact that Sanders <b>more<\/b> than held his own, and O&#8217;Malley excelled, while he lasted. <\/p>\n<p>The concluding paragraph of the article summarizes this incoherent world salad: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">The 2016 Democratic primary wasn\u2019t rigged by the DNC, and it certainly wasn\u2019t rigged against Sanders. But Democratic elites did try to make Clinton\u2019s nomination as inevitable, as preordained, as possible. And the party is still managing the resentment that engendered in voters. \u201cOnce somebody doesn\u2019t trust you,\u201d sighs Buckley, the New Hampshire Democratic chair, \u201cit\u2019s very hard to get that trust back.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jeebus.&nbsp; I wish that there were a cure for Michael Kinsley Disease.
