{"id":180076,"date":"2017-07-23T18:52:00","date_gmt":"2017-07-23T23:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2017\/07\/23\/bluck-fair\/"},"modified":"2017-07-23T18:52:00","modified_gmt":"2017-07-23T23:52:00","slug":"bluck-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2017\/07\/23\/bluck-fair\/","title":{"rendered":"Bluck Fair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It appears that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/politics\/831899\/Brexit-Remainers-launch-political-party-Jeremy-Corbyn-further-left-Tony-Blair-Branson\">Tony Blair is doing the rounds with rich donors to stand up a &#8220;Moderate&#8221; political party if Corbyn actually tries to have Labour act like Labour<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">A number of high-profile names have been linked to a new centre-left party dedicated to blocking Brexit.<\/p>\n<p>Former Prime Minister Tony Blair has reportedly held talks with a number of wealthy individuals including Hull City owner Dr Assem Allam, who donated \u00a3700,000 to Labour under Ed Miliband.<\/p>\n<p>Last November, emails revealed than Virgin boss Branson was willing to bankroll a campaign to derail Brexit, which had also received the backing of a host of businesses, communications firms and celebrities including Bob Geldof.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: blue;\">Branson has donated to former Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg\u2019s pro-EU Open Reason think tank, which he founded with fellow Remainer and multi millionaire Innocent drinks boss Richard Reed. Billionaire businessman George Soros is also a donor.<\/p>\n<p>Labour MPs Chukka Umunna and David Lammy\u2019s names were linked to the breakaway party, which also had the backing of Sir Clive Cowdery, an insurance millionaire who founded the Resolution Foundation think tank.<\/p>\n<p>A source close to Sir Clive said: \u201cThere had been high-level discussions about funding a specific group that would be anti-Brexit and anti-Corbyn &#8211; a breakaway third party pushing a progressive agenda.
