{"id":180306,"date":"2017-05-27T21:28:00","date_gmt":"2017-05-28T02:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2017\/05\/27\/hopefully-he-wakes-up-in-hell\/"},"modified":"2017-05-27T21:28:00","modified_gmt":"2017-05-28T02:28:00","slug":"hopefully-he-wakes-up-in-hell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2017\/05\/27\/hopefully-he-wakes-up-in-hell\/","title":{"rendered":"Hopefully, He Wakes Up in Hell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Zbigniew Brzezinski <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national\/zbigniew-brzezinski-foreign-policy-intellectual-who-served-as-carters-national-security-adviser-dies-at-89\/2017\/05\/26\/84cf5d5c-3f42-11e7-adba-394ee67a7582_story.html\">has died at age 89<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He was head of the National Security Council during the Carter Administration, and as such, proposed, a policy to buy a civil war in Afghanistan because he thought that it would hamstring the Soviets.<\/p>\n<p>He was right, but he also lit the fuse that created al Qaeda and its ilk.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think that he deserves to be in hell for indirectly causing 911, he could not have predicted that.<\/p>\n<p>He deserves to be in hell for what he successfully accomplished:  Creating a Vietnam for the Soviets in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>With the Vietnam war having ended only a few years prior, he knew what that meant, because there were somewhere around 2 <b>MILLION<\/b> civilian deaths in during the Vietnam war.<\/p>\n<p>He knew that he was unleashing a cycle of unspeakable violence and brutality on the people of Afghanistan, but he did not care, because he hated Russians.<\/p>\n<p>He was a war criminal.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, we have to acknowledge that the buck stopped for these policies with Carter, who someday will share a place in hell with him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zbigniew Brzezinski has died at age 89.
