{"id":180594,"date":"2017-03-06T21:37:00","date_gmt":"2017-03-07T02:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2017\/03\/06\/well-this-is-profoundly-disturbing\/"},"modified":"2017-03-06T21:37:00","modified_gmt":"2017-03-07T02:37:00","slug":"well-this-is-profoundly-disturbing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2017\/03\/06\/well-this-is-profoundly-disturbing\/","title":{"rendered":"Well, This is Profoundly Disturbing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Khizr Khan, the parent of a soldier killed in Iraq who was killed in Iraq, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/news\/canada\/2017\/03\/06\/president-donald-trump-critic-khizr-khan-cancels-toronto-speech-cites-travel-concerns.html\">canceled a speech in Toronto because he has been told that limitations have or will be placed on his travel<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">The father of a U.S. soldier killed in Iraq has cancelled a speech planned for Toronto on Tuesday, with the event organizer suggesting Khizr Khan was concerned about travelling outside the United States.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">In an email to ticket holders on Monday, organizer Bob Ramsay said Khan was \u201cnotified that his travel privilege (sic) are being reviewed\u201d Sunday evening.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">\u201cThis turn of events is not just of deep concern to me, but to all my fellow Americans who cherish our freedom to travel abroad,\u201d Khan said, according to Ramsay\u2019s statement.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">\u201cI have not been given any reason as to why.\u201d<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">It\u2019s not clear what \u201creview\u201d Khan was referring to.
