This is Repulsive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/c1jxpKa.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/c1jxpKa.png\" style=\"cursor: pointer; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px;\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a>Former Foreign Secretary for Tony Blair has <a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2016\/09\/13\/in-leaked-emails-iraq-war-architect-expressed-relief-that-brexit-distracted-from-u-k-war-inquiry\/\">expressed relief that the whole Brexit blowup has distracted people from his lying to get his country to go to war<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">Newly leaked emails show how a key U.K. architect of the Iraq war expressed relief that the \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/world\/2016\/06\/24\/britain-votes-leave-european-union\/86324662\/\">Brexit<\/a>\u201d vote to leave the European Union would reduce media coverage of the devastating results of an inquiry into the United Kingdom\u2019s role in the the war. <\/p>\n<p>On July 4, former British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw emailed former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell to discuss the upcoming release of the Chilcot Report\u2013 a document detailing the British government\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iraqinquiry.org.uk\/the-report\/\">inquiry<\/a>. The report probed, among other things, <a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2016\/07\/06\/chilcot-report-tony-blair-told-george-w-bush-if-we-win-quickly-everyone-will-be-our-friend\/\">the depth<\/a> of private British commitment and support for the American-led war in Iraq. <\/p>\n<p>In anticipation of coming press coverage, Straw asked Powell to review a statement in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/3107008-ChilcotStatement169706Draft1.html\">Word document<\/a> he drafted.
