{"id":182220,"date":"2015-11-17T23:32:00","date_gmt":"2015-11-18T04:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2015\/11\/17\/we-are-going-to-bail-out-these-motherfers-too\/"},"modified":"2015-11-17T23:32:00","modified_gmt":"2015-11-18T04:32:00","slug":"we-are-going-to-bail-out-these-motherfers-too","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2015\/11\/17\/we-are-going-to-bail-out-these-motherfers-too\/","title":{"rendered":"We are Going to Bail Out These Motherf%$#ers Too"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The private equity group Blackstone is now <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/blackstone-is-largest-owner-of-real-estate-2015-11\">the largest private owner of real-estate in the world<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">Blackstone has grown its size nearly four-fold since its 2007 IPO.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">But the biggest private equity firm on Wall Street has seen even greater growth in its real estate division, which has expanded from a $17.7 billion business when Steve Schwarzman took his company public to one that today manages nearly $100 billion worth of property. <\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">Steve Schwarzman is America&#8217;s landlord, now, and he&#8217;s not afraid to acknowledge it. <\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">&#8220;We\u2019re now, we believe, the largest owner of real estate in the world,&#8221; he told Business Insider in an interview at his company&#8217;s Park Avenue headquarters in midtown Manhattan.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">&#8220;We have a performance record that is\u2026 pretty much in a league of our own, we\u2019ve compounded [returns of] around 18% after fees.
