He was 61.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">The WWE confirmed the death. The wrestling organization provided no additional details.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">Piper, born Roderick Toombs in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is the second WWE Hall of Famer to die this summer, following the June death of Dusty Rhodes. \u2026\u2026\u2026<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">In addition to his celebrity in the ring, Piper appeared in John Carpenter\u2019s 1988 cult classic \u201c<i>They Live<\/i>.\u201d In that film, he delivered the memorable line: \u201cI have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass \u2014 and I\u2019m all out of bubblegum.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t seen <i>They Live<\/i>, do so.<\/p>\n<p>It is a rather irreverent commentary on the Reagan era, and is perhaps even more relevant now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Rowdy&#8221; Roddy Piper, nee Roderick Toombs, has died of a heart attack at age 61.
