Twitter insisted its commitment to free speech remains firm, and sought to explain the nuances of its policy, while critics \u2014 in a barrage of tweets \u2014 proposed a Twitter boycott and demanded that the censorship initiative be scrapped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is very bad news,\u201d tweeted Egyptian activist Mahmoud Salem.
