The Pentagon&#8217;s press secretary said he believed the officer was the highest ranking US military casualty since 9\/11.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">Germany&#8217;s military said 15 Nato soldiers were wounded, in an assault launched &#8220;probably by internal attackers&#8221;. Kirby said the daylight incident occurred during a &#8220;routine site visit&#8221; by US officers.
