{"id":187249,"date":"2013-05-01T20:06:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-02T01:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2013\/05\/01\/the-beatings-will-continue-until-morale-improves\/"},"modified":"2013-05-01T20:06:00","modified_gmt":"2013-05-02T01:06:00","slug":"the-beatings-will-continue-until-morale-improves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2013\/05\/01\/the-beatings-will-continue-until-morale-improves\/","title":{"rendered":"The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unemployment in the Euro Zone has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/business\/2013\/apr\/30\/eurozone-crisis-unemployment-rate-italy-letta\">hit a record high<\/a>, and there is <b>still<\/b> no sign of inflation:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">The latest eurozone unemployment data, due at 10am BST, is expected to show the region&#8217;s jobless rate has risen to a new record high of 12.1% in March (from 12% last month).<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">Italy&#8217;s unemployment rate is also forecast to increase, showing the challenges facing its new government as it strives to drag the country back to growth.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">And in Spain, new GDP data will doubtless confirm that the country&#8217;s economy contracted again in the first three months of 2013 (economists expect a fall of 0.5%).<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">Eurostat also reported this morning that inflation across the Eurozone has fallen to just 1.2% in April.
