{"id":187286,"date":"2013-04-19T18:55:00","date_gmt":"2013-04-19T23:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2013\/04\/19\/this-is-nucking-futs\/"},"modified":"2013-04-19T18:55:00","modified_gmt":"2013-04-19T23:55:00","slug":"this-is-nucking-futs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2013\/04\/19\/this-is-nucking-futs\/","title":{"rendered":"This is Nucking Futs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/vqrYJzm.jpg\" style=\"cursor: pointer; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px;\" width=\"150\" \/>I get that the bombing at the Boston Marathon is a big deal.<\/p>\n<p>But the saturation coverage is excessive, and locking down the Boston Metro area, the home to about 4\u00bd million people, is insane.<\/p>\n<p>Seriously, if this happens in a place like London (52 dead, over 700 injured), or Madrid (191 dead and 2050 injured), they kept the cities open.<\/p>\n<p>It seems that every time that something like this happens, we are greeted by our authorities telling us to indulge in underwear befouling terror.<\/p>\n<p>Seriously, our reaction as a society (I&#8217;m not talking about the first responders here) has been one of profound cowardice, and government officialdom has encouraged this whole thing.<\/p>\n<p>I wonder if this is the ultimate goal.  Is it all about sending the message, &#8220;<b><span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Live in obedient fear, citizen.<\/span><\/b>&#8220;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I get that the bombing at the Boston Marathon is a big deal.
