{"id":188370,"date":"2010-10-12T22:15:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-13T03:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2010\/10\/12\/not-feeling-hopey-changey\/"},"modified":"2010-10-12T22:15:00","modified_gmt":"2010-10-13T03:15:00","slug":"not-feeling-hopey-changey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2010\/10\/12\/not-feeling-hopey-changey\/","title":{"rendered":"Not Feeling Hopey Changey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Obama administration has <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2010\/10\/12\/news\/companies\/deepwater_drilling_moratorium_lifted.fortune\/index.htm\">lifted the moratorium on deep water drilling in the Gulf<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Well, at least this means that Mary Landrieu has dropped her hold on Obama&#8217;s OMB chair, right?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/e2-wire\/677-e2-wire\/123855-landrieu-continues-blocking-omb-pick-despite-drilling-ban-removal\">Wrong<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It appears that she wants to be sure that the EPA and the Department of the Interior are sufficiently compliant:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 153);\"><p>\u201cI am not going to release my hold on Jack Lew. Instead, I will take this time to look closely at how [Interior] is handling the issuing of permits and whether or not drilling activity in both shallow and deep water is resuming. When Congress reconvenes for the lame duck session next month, I will have had several weeks to evaluate if today\u2019s lifting of the moratorium is actually putting people back to work,\u201d Landrieu said in a prepared statement Tuesday after the Interior Department announced the lifting of the deepwater ban ahead of schedule.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You just got called a c*cks*ck*r by Mary F%$#ing Landrieu, and you are supposed to be the umpire, to mangle a Bull Durham moment.<\/p>\n<p>What are you going to do now?<\/p>\n<p>This is what happens when people know you have no guts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Obama administration has lifted the moratorium on deep water drilling in the Gulf.
