It is a security effort,\u201d said one Google employee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany people have been moved away from [Windows] PCs, mostly towards Mac OS, following the China hacking attacks,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n<p>New hires are now given the option of using Apple\u2019s Mac computers or PCs running the Linux operating system. \u201cLinux is open source and we feel good about it,\u201d said one employee. \u201cMicrosoft we don\u2019t feel so good about.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Obviously with a bit more than 10,000 employees, one would assume that there somewhere around 20K licenses floating around, which is a small part of Microsoft&#8217;s market, but it&#8217;s also a poke in the eye.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, Google will move its employees to its online apps <a href=\"http:\/\/docs.google.com\/\">Google Docs<\/a> at some point in the future, which might be a greater threat to Bill Gates&#8217;s revenue streams<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>But Google is ditching Microsoft\u00ae Windows\u00ae completely.
