{"id":189226,"date":"2010-05-03T18:43:00","date_gmt":"2010-05-03T23:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2010\/05\/03\/well-here-is-a-blast-from-my-web-past\/"},"modified":"2010-05-03T18:43:00","modified_gmt":"2010-05-03T23:43:00","slug":"well-here-is-a-blast-from-my-web-past","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2010\/05\/03\/well-here-is-a-blast-from-my-web-past\/","title":{"rendered":"Well, Here is a Blast from My Web Past"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/badhair\/12ohio.1.jpg\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" \/>Around 1995 0r so, I really do not recall when exactly, I decided that the web was just too useful for me to compete on utility, so I would compete on uselessness.<\/p>\n<p>So I created, hand coded, because that was the way then, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pobox.com\/~msaroff\/badhair\/\">web page dedicated to bad hair days<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Originally, it was just me, you&#8217;ve seen the picture, it&#8217;s in the right column, and Al (Einstein, that is, the patron saint of bad hair).<\/p>\n<p>Well, I realized that not only did the Internet completely out-class me in useful things, but it completely outclassed me in useless things, so it never went that far.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, I did add one other public figure, just 12 days before September 11, 2001, James Traficant, who had arguably the worst hair in the 200+ year history of Congress.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Traficant was subsequently tried and convicted for matters unrelated to his hair, corruption, and expelled from Congress.<\/p>\n<p>Well, He&#8217;s back!!!!!!<\/p>\n<p>After serving 7 years for bribery, he is<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/8301-503544_162-20004011-503544.html\">running for his old seat as an independent<\/a> in his old district in Youngstown, OH.<\/p>\n<p>Same as it ever was\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Around 1995 0r so, I really do not recall when exactly, I decided that the web was just too useful for me to compete on utility, so I would compete on uselessness.
