It turns out, by the way, that oil rigs today generally don\u2019t cause spills. They are technologically very advanced. Even during Katrina, the spills didn\u2019t come from the oil rigs, they came from the refineries onshore.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The problem here, as the folks at Media Matters so ably note, this is false.  Hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil and distillates were spilled offshore as a consequence of hurricane Katrina.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not true, it&#8217;s <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">never<\/span> been true, and he&#8217;s a smart guy, and he <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">knows this<\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reliably spouting right wing talking points since 2004 Barack Obama.
