Wade<\/span> and a woman&#8217;s right to choose in general.<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Since Barack Obama has always been tepid, at best, on <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Roe v. Wade<\/span> and a woman&#8217;s right to choose in general.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>They will generally favor a very expansive definition of the powers of the Presidency.<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Since Barack Obama has aggressively asserted a very expansive definition of the powers of the Presidency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>They will generally be rather pro corporate, though not as much as Scalia, Thomas, Alito, Roberts, and Kennedy.<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Since Barack Obama is \u2026\u2026\u2026  You get the picture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>They will not be particularly pro organized labor.<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Obama has clearly been tepid on labor issues, as shown by his efforts to soft pedal the EFCA (Card Check).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What I would like to see, beyond ideology, is that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They not have worked as a prosecutor, which tends to set people off on a legal path that is hostile to the rights of the accused.<\/li>\n<li>That they not, and have not been, a sitting Federal Judge, which is increasingly the norm, and we need more diversity of experience in there.<\/li>\n<li>Nominating someone who is publicly an atheist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Things that could make this amusing, but will not happen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nominating Bill Clinton, just to make the &#8216;Phant&#8217;s heads explode.<\/li>\n<li>Nominating a Muslim.<\/li>\n<li>Nominating Hillary Clinton, just to make the &#8216;Phant&#8217;s heads explode.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But these will not happen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just Announced.
