(top pic)<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s still positive, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">barely<\/span>, meaning that there is expansion, but it is a rather precipitous drop.<\/p>\n<p>We also saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/hostednews\/afp\/article\/ALeqM5iGD1jcRD0_XUvyv6qOiLMo7RlIwA\">US industrial capacity utilization rise in November<\/a>, (2<sup>nd<\/sup> pic down) so it appears that there is an upswing going on, albeit a slow one.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, we are saw both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/\/id\/34431815\">homebuilder sentiment falling<\/a> (3<sup>rd<\/sup> pic down), <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/nm\/20091215\/bs_nm\/us_creditcards\">credit card chargeoffs rising<\/a> (bottom pic), and the <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052748703438404574598172737162740.html\">Architecture Billings Index falling<\/a> in November on the other side of the ticket.<\/p>\n<p>In energy, <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2009\/12\/15\/markets\/oil.reut\/index.htm\">oil rose for its first time in 10 days<\/a>, and in currency, the <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2009\/12\/15\/markets\/dollar.reut\/index.htm\">dollar was up<\/a>, hitting an October high.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Click for full size H\/t Calculated Risk H\/t Calculated Risk The 2006 spike is just before the new bankruptcy lawh\/t Calculated Risk, Well, we are in for a bumpy ride, with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York&#8217;s Empire State Manufacturing Survey falling 21 points in November.
