(1990 pages)<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t read <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">that<\/span> fast, but here is a my summary based on reading the <a href=\"http:\/\/wonkroom.thinkprogress.org\/2009\/10\/29\/details-house\/\">Wonk Room&#8217;s<\/a> summaries:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bill won&#8217;t really phase in until 2013 (stupid, you need the benefits to become apparent sooner, rather than later).<\/li>\n<li>Adds a high risk pool for the time between the enactment and when the benefits kick in.<\/li>\n<li>Public option is not the &#8220;strong&#8221; (based on Medicare reimbursement) option.<\/li>\n<li>Requires large (how large?) employers to provide health insurance.<\/li>\n<li>Makes the medicare doctor reimbursement permanent, eliminating the annual reimbursement rate Kabuki in the Congress.<\/li>\n<li>Kills insurer antitrust exemption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s better than anything likely to come out of the Senate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PDF link to house bill.
