{"id":191193,"date":"2009-09-13T15:58:00","date_gmt":"2009-09-13T20:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2009\/09\/13\/well-this-explains-the-stock-market-bump\/"},"modified":"2009-09-13T15:58:00","modified_gmt":"2009-09-13T20:58:00","slug":"well-this-explains-the-stock-market-bump","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2009\/09\/13\/well-this-explains-the-stock-market-bump\/","title":{"rendered":"Well, This Explains the Stock Market Bump"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img7.imageshack.us\/img7\/7218\/spxmonetizationcorr6552.jpg\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" width=\"400\" \/>I believe that I&#8217;ve mentioned this before, but what is going on here is that the Federal Reserve is printing money and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/article\/correlation-sp-500-performance-fed-monetization-activities-start-qe\">giving it to bankers with instructions to buy stocks<\/a>, in order to pump up the market.<\/p>\n<p>There is a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">lot<\/span> that is wrong with this, it&#8217;s the biggest pump and dump scheme in the history of \u2026\u2026Well\u2026\u2026<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">History<\/span> is the immediate flaw that comes to mind, but this ignores the truly troubling aspect of these actions.<\/p>\n<p>The scary part is that this is based in the heartfelt belief that the stock market <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">really is the economy<\/span>, and so by creating an artificial bump in stock prices, that you are creating a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">real<\/span> bump in the real economy.<\/p>\n<p>At it&#8217;s core, this is what is wrong here:  The inability to see Wall Street and Main Street as separate items, and to recognize that Main Street is <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">far<\/span> more important.<\/p>\n<p>When this peters out, and it will, we will be in a deeper hole than when we started.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I believe that I&#8217;ve mentioned this before, but what is going on here is that the Federal Reserve is printing money and giving it to bankers with instructions to buy stocks, in order to pump up the market.
