Glassman, a fact that I did not pay much attention to when I made the initial snark.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/claytonlittlejohn.blogspot.com\/2009\/09\/author-of-dow-36000-to-head-bushs-think.html\">Clayton Littlejohn<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/wonkette.com\/410930\/famous-failure-to-run-george-w-bushs-think-tank\">Wonkette,<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/yglesias.thinkprogress.org\/archives\/2009\/09\/bush-36000.php\">Matthew Yglesias<\/a> caught the obvious irony: Mr. Glassman is the author of <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Dow 36,000<\/span>, in which he and Kevin A. Hassett wrote in 1999, which predicted that the index would top thirty-six thousand in the next few years.<\/p>\n<p>The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed today, about a decade later, at <span mwsymbol=\"djia\" mwfield=\"Price\" mwformat=\",2\">9,441.27.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Glassman appears <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">uniquely<\/span> qualified to represent the ideas of George W.
