Rick Santorum to the list of potential 2012 Republican presidential candidates.<\/p>\n<p>POLITICO has learned Santorum will visit first-in-the-nation Iowa this fall for a series of appearances before the sort of conservative activists who dominate the state GOP\u2019s key presidential caucuses.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While this might not be good for the nation, or for the caucus goers of Iowa, or any attempt to have sanity return to the Republican party in 2012, it is good for late night talk show hosts, columnist Dan Savage,<sup>\u2020<\/sup> and anyone interested interested in heaping scorn on nonsensical quotes from Republicans, like yours truly.<\/p>\n<p>This promises to be as entertaining as the <a href=\"http:\/\/40yrs.blogspot.com\/search?q=fred+thompson+clown+show\">Fred Thompson Clown<\/a> show of 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, it could go horribly awry, as my father illustrated in 1968, when he noted, &#8220;Those stupid bastards nominated Richard Nixon!  There is no way that we can lose now.&#8221;<sup>\u2021<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><sup>*<\/sup><span style=\"font-size:78%;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Santorum_%28sexual_neologism%29\">definition of Santorum<\/a> is, &#8220;That frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex&#8221;.<\/span><br \/><sup>\u2020<\/sup><span style=\"font-size:78%;\">Who coined said definition of &#8220;Santorum.&#8221;<\/span><br \/><sup>\u2021<\/sup><span style=\"font-size:78%;\">Piss poor <del>political<\/del> forecasts run in my family, so do <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: bold;font-size:78%;\" >not<\/span><span style=\"font-size:78%;\"> take my predictions as gospel.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It appears that Rick Santorum* is making the pilgrimage to Iowa, indicating that he is looking to run for President in 2012: Add former Sen.
