{"id":191803,"date":"2009-06-22T23:04:00","date_gmt":"2009-06-23T04:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2009\/06\/22\/sounds-to-me-like-another-republican-spending-a-few-days-in-the-closet\/"},"modified":"2009-06-22T23:04:00","modified_gmt":"2009-06-23T04:04:00","slug":"sounds-to-me-like-another-republican-spending-a-few-days-in-the-closet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2009\/06\/22\/sounds-to-me-like-another-republican-spending-a-few-days-in-the-closet\/","title":{"rendered":"Sounds to Me Like Another Republican Spending a Few Days In the Closet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the odd bit of news right now is that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/us_world\/2009\/06\/22\/2009-06-22_awol_gov_sanford_has_south_carolina_in_tizzy.html\">South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford has gone missing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He ditched his security detail, he&#8217;s turned off his cell phones, and no one can find him.<\/p>\n<p>The interesting quote in the above story is from his wife:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 153);\"><p>Neither his wife, nor the state&#8217;s lieutenant governor, nor police officials know where he is, South Carolina newspapers reported.<\/p>\n<p>But Jenny Sanford told the Associated Press she <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">wasn&#8217;t worried<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He was writing something and wanted some space to get away from the kids,&#8221; she said while <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">vacationing with the couple&#8217;s four sons<\/span>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>(<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">emphasis mine<\/span>)<\/p>\n<p>She sounds to me like someone who is <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">studiously<\/span> avoiding trying to find the answer to this.<\/p>\n<p>The real issue here is not Mark Sandford&#8217;s personal life.
