{"id":192277,"date":"2009-04-22T20:50:00","date_gmt":"2009-04-23T01:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2009\/04\/22\/living-in-bizarro-world\/"},"modified":"2009-04-22T20:50:00","modified_gmt":"2009-04-23T01:50:00","slug":"living-in-bizarro-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2009\/04\/22\/living-in-bizarro-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Living in Bizarro* World"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Because <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/mcb_washington\/20090420\/pl_mcb_washington\/washington200904cheneyreleasemoredocumentsoninterrogationshtml\">Dick Cheney is demanding that more torture memos be declassified<\/a>, because <span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">his<\/span> memos, or at least the ones that he wants released, show that torture worked, and got important information.<\/p>\n<p>Not surprising, as Cheney is a master of bureaucratic infighting and the CYA memo<\/p>\n<p>I agree with Dan Froomkin when he says, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/voices.washingtonpost.com\/white-house-watch\/torture\/call-cheneys-bluff.html?wprss=white-house-watch\">Call Cheney&#8217;s bluff<\/a>,&#8221; I also think that if he wants memos releases, they should be reports from the agents in place, and not self serving memos from the OVP.<\/p>\n<p><sup>*<\/sup><span style=\"font-size:78%;\">If you do not know what Bizarro World is, go <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bizarro_World\/\">here<\/a>, or better yet, read some classic Superman<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> comic books&#8230;.Bizarro, and <\/span><span style=\"font-size:78%;\">Superman<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><span style=\"font-size:78%;\"> are a part of basic American cultural literacy.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Because Dick Cheney is demanding that more torture memos be declassified, because his memos, or at least the ones that he wants released, show that torture worked, and got important information.
