Why give a &#8216;Phant a leg up in the 2010 election in a state that is increasingly blue.<\/p>\n<p>Update:<\/p>\n<p>OK, the NY Times is reporting that there is a rumor that<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2009\/02\/01\/us\/politics\/01gregg.html?partner=rss&amp;emc=rss&amp;pagewanted=all\"> former NH Senator Warren Rudman would be appointed as a caretaker<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 153);\"><p>But there are no guarantees that Mr. Lynch would pick a Democrat: New Hampshire prizes its political independence, and the governor is a moderate.
