{"id":194124,"date":"2008-10-23T05:18:00","date_gmt":"2008-10-23T10:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2008\/10\/23\/they-are-lucky-that-they-are-white-folk\/"},"modified":"2008-10-23T05:18:00","modified_gmt":"2008-10-23T10:18:00","slug":"they-are-lucky-that-they-are-white-folk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2008\/10\/23\/they-are-lucky-that-they-are-white-folk\/","title":{"rendered":"They are Lucky that they are White Folk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Because we now have a report that <a href=\"http:\/\/calculatedrisk.blogspot.com\/2008\/10\/report-imf-to-bailout-iceland.html\">Iceland is going to accept an IMF bailout<\/a> in the amount of <a href=\"http:\/\/business.timesonline.co.uk\/tol\/business\/economics\/article4982010.ece\">$6 billion<\/a>, about $18,740.10 per person living there, and about 1\/2 of the island&#8217;s GDP.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily for them, they are white, because the &#8220;strict measures&#8221; to be demanded by the IMF will be along the lines of, &#8220;a stipulation that Iceland quickly <span>deleverage<\/span> its three nationalized banks <span>Kaupthing<\/span>, <span>Landsbanki<\/span> and <span>Glitner<\/span>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If they were more darkly complected, you would likely see things demanded like a reduction of the minimum wage, the abolition of free primary schooling, the abolition of the government <span>health care<\/span> system, higher sales taxes and lower income taxes to favor investors, the sale of public utilities to foreign investors, a roll back of labor rights and employment protections, and aggressive measures to depress domestic consumption at because it would theoretically benefit exports.<\/p>\n<p>BTW, that the last one is called <strong>creating poverty<\/strong>, which is fine for the n*gg*rs, but just wouldn&#8217;t do for the pale skinned blue eyed folk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Because we now have a report that Iceland is going to accept an IMF bailout in the amount of $6 billion, about $18,740.10 per person living there, and about 1\/2 of the island&#8217;s GDP.
