Everything else appears too dicey, with <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/08\/20\/news\/economy\/mortgage_apps.ap\/index.htm\">mortgage applications at a nearly 8 year low<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/apps\/news?pid=20601110&amp;sid=aGZ5wqFMmUS4\">estimated food inflation for this year may be at a 28 year high<\/a>, and home prices in high priced areas <a href=\"http:\/\/dqnews.com\/News\/California\/Bay-Area\/RRBay080819.aspx\">falling like a stone<\/a>, even if volume is up a bit.<\/p>\n<p>In energy and currency, the <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/08\/20\/markets\/dollar\/index.htm\">dollar is up a bit<\/a>, as is <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/08\/20\/markets\/oil\/\">oil<\/a>, though neither are up significantly, and <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/08\/20\/news\/economy\/fuel\/index.htm\">gasoline is down for the 34th straight day<\/a>, and it&#8217;s now down about 10% from the peak.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As it always is in times of crisis, we are seeing a flight to government bonds.
