It&#8217;s still better than the market as a whole, but I expect that to change as their complex high yield instruments start behaving like the crap that they are.<\/p>\n<p>In energy and currency, the news is neutral with <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/07\/09\/markets\/oil\/\">oil<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/07\/09\/news\/economy\/gas\/index.htm\">retail gasoline<\/a> flat, though the <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/07\/09\/markets\/dollar\/index.htm\">dollar is down a bit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Weekly <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/07\/09\/real_estate\/mortgage_applications.ap\/index.htm\">mortgage application volume is up 7.5%<\/a>, but I would go with monthly numbers which have less noise in them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a stunning grasp of the obvious, the Fedederal Reserve is now saying that the economic downturn might continue into next year&#8230;.Well duh!!!
