Now we know were Bush and His Evil Minions<sup>\u2122<\/sup> <a href=\"http:\/\/iht.com\/articles\/2008\/07\/02\/america\/02detain.php\">got their torture ideas<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 153);\"><p>The military trainers who came to Guant\u00e1namo Bay in December 2002 based an entire interrogation class on a chart showing the effects of &#8220;coercive management techniques&#8221; for possible use on prisoners, including &#8220;sleep deprivation,&#8221; &#8220;prolonged constraint,&#8221; and &#8220;exposure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What the trainers did not say, and may not have known, was that their chart had been copied verbatim from a 1957 Air Force study of Chinese Communist techniques used during the Korean War to obtain confessions, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">many of them false<\/span>, from American prisoners.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>(<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">emphasis mine<\/span>)<\/p>\n<p>So, we used the torture that the Chinese did to our soldiers.  That is <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">so<\/span> delightful.<\/p>\n<p>I would also note that this torture was <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">never intended to get useful information<\/span>.  It was intended to <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">extract false propaganda statements<\/span>, such as the one that the North Vietnamese extracted from John McCain when he was a prisoner of war.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is lovely.
