It&#8217;s true that Coutrywide&#8217;s shareholders <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/06\/24\/news\/companies\/bofa_countrywide\/index.htm\">approved the Bank of America takeover<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And as to the question as to whether BoA got a good deal, or whether they come to regret it, I would note that the state attorneys general of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/06\/25\/business\/25mortgage.html?hp\">Illinois<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/06\/25\/real_estate\/countrywide_california.ap\/index.htm?postversion=2008062512\">California<\/a> have both filed suit for what amounts to fraud and deceptive business practices against the mortgage lender.<\/p>\n<p>Countrywide&#8217;s founder, Angelo Mozilo, aka &#8220;the Tanned One&#8221;, must be breathing a sigh of relief.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OK, it may be a bit of an exaggeration.
