It requires that a President be a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Natural-born_citizen\">natural born citizen<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Section 1 of Article II of the Constitution contains the clause:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If you look at the case law, a child born to an American parent where the paternity is established before the age of majority is a natural born citizen.<\/p>\n<p>All the stupidity over the borders of an image of a Hawaiian birth certificate will not change that.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s hoping that Johnson gets a clue over the next few months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By which I mean the denizens of Larry Johnson&#8217;s No Quarter (no link, just like Malkin).
