The collapse of Carlyle Capital, that was so yesterday&#8230;.hold it&#8230;.it actually <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">WAS<\/span> yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Today<\/span>, it&#8217;s Bear Stearns, which gets its own thread for reasons of personal ego.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/aponline\/business\/AP-Economy.html?_r=1&amp;oref=slogin\">Inflation in February was 0%<\/a>, largely due to some moderation in food and energy, which <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">won&#8217;t<\/span> happen in March, given that <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2008\/03\/14\/markets\/Oil_prices.ap\/index.htm\">oil is still at around $110\/bbl<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/markets\/feeds\/afx\/2008\/03\/14\/afx4772333.html\">the dollar is still tanking<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In insurance, it appears that losses are <a href=\"http:\/\/bloomberg.com\/apps\/news?pid=20601109&amp;sid=aH4bWZasxTUo&amp;refer=home\">approaching the levels of Katrina<\/a>, though we are probably less than 1\/3 of the way through this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In terms of market stability, Carlyle Capital share prices have tripled after Carlyle Group co-founder David Rubinstein said that it was looking at ways to compensate investors.
