{"id":198430,"date":"2007-11-08T22:09:00","date_gmt":"2007-11-09T03:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2007\/11\/08\/journamalism-at-npr\/"},"modified":"2007-11-08T22:09:00","modified_gmt":"2007-11-09T03:09:00","slug":"journamalism-at-npr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2007\/11\/08\/journamalism-at-npr\/","title":{"rendered":"Journamalism at NPR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I heard the story today about Hillary Clinton going to a restaurant in in Iowa, and having her picture taken with a waitress,  but not leaving a tip on NPR.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/talkingpointsmemo.com\/mochila.php?articleId=10270108&amp;channelId=76&amp;buyerId=talkingpointsmemo_com400732&amp;buid=866\">The story was untrue<\/a>, the campaign says that they paid $157, and left a $100 tip, and it was <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">confirmed by the restaurant manager<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>So much for Journalism, at least the journalism of David Greene, at NPR.<br \/><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\"><br \/><span style=\"font-style:italic;\">Update<\/span>,<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/templates\/story\/story.php?storyId=16099751\">NPR has a correction<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Editor&#8217;s Note: Since this story aired, Hillary Clinton&#8217;s campaign contacted NPR to say that the campaign paid Maid-Rite a bill for $157 the day of Clinton&#8217;s visit and left $100 in tip money. NPR contacted Maid-Rite manager Brad Crawford, who confirmed that a bill was paid and tip money was left.
