{"id":200324,"date":"2021-05-11T17:51:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-11T22:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2021\/05\/11\/judge-calls-bullsh-on-nra-bankruptcy\/"},"modified":"2021-05-11T17:51:00","modified_gmt":"2021-05-11T22:51:00","slug":"judge-calls-bullsh-on-nra-bankruptcy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2021\/05\/11\/judge-calls-bullsh-on-nra-bankruptcy\/","title":{"rendered":"Judge Calls Bullsh%$ on NRA Bankruptcy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>  The NRA is attempting to declare bankruptcy so that they could move to Texas   in order to evade a corruption investigation by the New York Attorney   General.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>  Judge Harlin Hale has been dubiouys of the arguments presented by Wayne   LaPierre and his Evil Minions<sup>\u2122<\/sup> throughout the trial, and    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/nra-bankruptcy-decision\/2021\/05\/11\/9f67509a-b106-11eb-9059-d8176b9e3798_story.html\">he has now ruled that the NRA cannot declare bankruptcy to dodge prosecution<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sweet, sweet ammosexual tears:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #2b00fe;\">A federal judge Tuesday denied an effort by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/nra-political-clout\/2021\/03\/26\/943cb6ae-8d1d-11eb-9423-04079921c915_story.html?itid=lk_inline_manual_1\">National Rifle Association <\/a>to file for bankruptcy protection, ruling that the gun rights group had filed the case in a bad-faith attempt to fend off a lawsuit by the New York attorney general.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Court finds, based on the totality of the circumstances, that the NRA\u2019s bankruptcy petition was not filed in good faith but instead was filed as an effort to gain an unfair litigation advantage in the NYAG Enforcement Action and as an effort to avoid a regulatory scheme,\u201d Judge Harlin Hale wrote in a 37-page decision.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was a victory for New York Attorney General Letitia James, who filed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/nra-lapierre-ny-attorney-general\/2020\/08\/06\/8e389794-d794-11ea-930e-d88518c57dcc_story.html?itid=lk_inline_manual_4\">a far-reaching civil suit<\/a> against the group last August accusing top officials of fraud and self-dealing.
