{"id":200589,"date":"2021-02-24T19:26:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-25T00:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2021\/02\/24\/today-in-stupid-3\/"},"modified":"2021-02-24T19:26:00","modified_gmt":"2021-02-25T00:26:00","slug":"today-in-stupid-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2021\/02\/24\/today-in-stupid-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Today in Stupid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/JcA0x.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/JcA0x.jpg\" style=\"cursor: pointer; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px;\" width=\"200\" \/><\/a>It appears that one of the Capitol rioters was texting his ex-wife while breaking into, and <a href=\"https:\/\/talkingpointsmemo.com\/news\/alleged-capitol-rioter-spent-insurrection-texting-ex-who-then-ratted-him-out-to-feds\">said ex promptly notified the federal constabulary of the state of affairs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As the saying goes, &#8220;\u30d0\u30ab\u306b\u3064\u3051\u308b\u85ac\u306f\u306a\u3044&#8221;.<sup>*<\/sup><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #2b00fe;\">One consistent theme so far in the enormous federal investigation of the Jan. 6 attack on Congress is the overwhelming willingness of friends, family and lovers of Capitol rioters, past and present, to rat them out to authorities. <\/p>\n<p>Wednesday brought yet another exemplary entry to the court record.  <\/p>\n<p>According to an <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.documentcloud.org\/documents\/20491185\/2-17-21-us-v-richard-michetti-complaint-affidavit.pdf\">FBI agent\u2019s affidavit<\/a> in a newly unsealed case, Richard Michetti texted someone with whom he had a prior romantic relationship several times during the attack. She contacted authorities the following day.  <\/p>\n<p>Michetti allegedly sent a video showing himself on Capitol grounds during the riot. Another video showed him inside the Capitol Building itself, according to the affidavit. He also allegedly texted a string of updates about what he was up to as he rampaged with the mob. <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to everything else, I get the sense that these folks were <b>NOT<\/b> exactly the the sharpest knives in the drawer.<\/p>\n<p><sup>*<\/sup><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">Pronounced in Japanese,   &#8220;baka ni tsukeru kusuri wanai&#8221;, which means, &#8220;There is no medicine for   stupidity.&#8221;   Apologies for any inaccuracies in the text, I do not know   Japanese.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It appears that one of the Capitol rioters was texting his ex-wife while breaking into, and said ex promptly notified the federal constabulary of the state of affairs.
