DC Area Hiking Info
- APPALACHIAN MOUNTAIN CLUB
A regional club. The DC Chapter is one of 12 chapters in the NE US.
The DC Chapter has 1900 members. Offers hikes, related activities, and
an occasional bike ride.

- CAPITAL CLUB
Most events are hikes with 2 or 3 distances and a bus ride. Bus stops
are DC NW and another stop near Beltway en route. The club also has
full moon hikes and some other local events.
- CENTER HIKING CLUB
Hikes both on close-in trails and some distance away, in both MD & VA.
Other outdoor events offered include camping, canoeing, and skiing.
- MOUNTAIN CLUB OF MARYLAND
A Baltimore area club
- NORTHERN VIRGINIA CLUB
Mostly semi-local hikes, with some in MD. Other outdoor events are
also offered.

Its local activities are from MWROP,
the Metropolitan Washington Regional Outings Program.

Typically, it offers Sunday dual hikes of about 7 and 11 miles, and a
bus ride. Bus stops are DC NW, and a second point near the Beltway en
route
