Enter a New Chinese Tea Phrase
Translation dongfangmeiren (Dong1 Fang1 Mei3 Ren2) = (东方美人 or 東方美人) a heavily oxidized oolong from Hsinchu county, Taiwan, originally developed around 1930 in Beipu, literally Beautiful Eastern Woman. Canonically this tea must be subject to the influence of Cha Xiao Lu Ye Chan “leaf-hopper” insects, but loosely speaking it is equated with Baihao oolong. There is an alternate spelling with the same pronunciation (东方每人 or 東方每人), meaning Every Oriental Person, sometimes used sarcastically like Pong Fong
