Not a lot more business activity at the film market, but I suddenly started seeing good movies, which cheered me up a lot.  Two of the films I caught, ABERDEEN and LAST DAYS OF MAY, were confident, uncompromising art films of the sort that I'd given up on finding here; ABERDEEN might be the best new film I've seen all year.

I've gotten a little more forward over the course of the market, starting conversations with more people and trying to worry less about being a pest.  By prevailing standards, though, I'm still a shrinking violet.  I met a filmmaker who got into the market with an orange company badge instead of a purple filmmaker badge; other filmmakers are constantly walking up to her and pitching their projects without even asking what she does for a living.
