The shitty Suzuki is no more. I traded it in for the Scooby, which is now know affectionately as “The Outbike”.

This car doesn’t suck!

On August 24, 2006, I replaced my Suzuki (the Zukini) with a brand-spanking-new Subaru Impreza with all of 24 miles on the clock. As of August 26, when I got back to Pullman, I had just over 500. I can say with certainty that the Subaru:

  • gets better gas mileage
  • has a hell of a lot more power
  • is more fun to drive
  • is more comfortable to drive
  • has just as much usable space
  • is easier to use with bikes

In short, this car is perfect. Since the car broke 1200 miles, some of the early quirks like being slow to de-rev when you let of the gas and a horrid tendancy to “tramp along” at low revs while using compression to maintain speed downhill have effectively gone away.

It doesn’t take the corners as well as the MG, but it is very reassuring to drive and you can push it with confidence you won’t end up sideways in a ditch.
