I ordered a new Tamron SP AF90mm f/2.8 Macro lens for my D40 on Monday, it arrived on Friday evening.

It’s a fun lens, though challenging.

Learning to use this camera will be a challenge.

For reference, this picture was taken at f/10 at very close range, the 6 bladed prop that is in focus is 7/16” wide from tip to tip.

I tried this morning to take some more pictures outside at a higher aperture number to try to get a larger depth of field, but have discovered this lens needs a lot of light to work. In the mean time, a new challenge is never a bad thing.
