• ++Volume
  ++Volume™ is a small program (extension) to increase the volume when you dial phone numbers. It does this by patching the O/S and overriding the standard touch tone generation routine. It also uses it's own set of touch tone sounds as the ones in ROM don't sound so good when the volume in increased.
• Alert Maker
  Alert Maker allows you to create your own alert sounds by converting Notes sound recordings to alert sounds. The alert sounds can then be used with other applications such as Roosta and Sound Off! -- Shareware

• DSR-1™
  DSR-1 (copyright 1996,1997 by DMP Systems) is a program that will enable you to record notes on the MP2000 without opening the lid. DSR-1 uses the Power Switch to start and stop recording. Recording may be done with Newton on, off or by using buttons in the DSR-1 application. -- Commercial (demo available for download)

• PowerRecorder
  PowerRecorder turns the Newton's power switch into a record on/off button. PowerRecorder will give you single finger control to record voice notes without even opening the cover of your Newton.   Create your own Sound Icons! This desktop/laptop application allows you to quickly convert sound files to Sound Icons. -- Commercial (demo available for download)
• Speak Time™
  Speak Time™ (also known as Time & Temp) is a freeware program that will Speak the Time and Temperature. Speak Time runs on any Newton.
• StartupSound
  Change your Newton's StartupSound and SleepSound. NOS 2.0 Only. -- Freeware
• Sysbeep
  SysBeep is a small program to give you a different beep sound. Two packages are included. One says "Uh Oh", the other, "What the Hell ?". You may install only one package at a time. Just run it once after installing (or reseting) to activate the new sound. It overrides the normal System Beep routine.
• Tactile Sounds Page
  Register new sounds for your Newton -- Various programs like Tactile's upcoming ChatBuddy, their programmers tool PackageBeeper, and the built in Newton Alarms let users select from the registered sounds for different notices. Adding one of these packages will extend the number of sounds you can choose.
