Subject: VT loading zone on pocantico st

Dear Mayor and Trustees:

Watching the 9/27 Board meeting now. A resident raised valid concerns about the size and utility of the loading zone on Pocantico St for the Van Tassel Apartments.

The loading zone straddles the crosswalk. During the discussions last winter about improving safety at this crosswalk, I suggested the loading zone and handicapped spot be swapped. Here are the details:

The bollards have done wonders to improve safety here. Please don't remove them. Without them, people were parking in the crosswalk, which, as you can imagine, is very problematic.

The resident testifying on 9/27 mentioned the poles for the construction shed make it difficult to exit vehicles parked in the loading zone. The Village can get the VT/contractors to adjust the pole configuration to provide more openings by the loading zone. Probably want to do the same thing on the handicapped spot too.

Sincerely,

--Dan
