Clothing for Winter Cycling

This method of dressing is derived from many years of bike messengering plus and having lived homeless for over three years. One of its virtues is adjustability when the temperature changes.

Now, all these temperatures are approximates, especially the Celsius :), and this is the best I can remember from last year.

45<60 F (9<18 C)
Tshirt
Long sleeve flannel shirt
Heavy Sweater
Light mittens and wool hat at lower end of temp range

Wool or synthetic fleece tights
Wool socks
Sandals

32<45 F (0<9 C)
Tshirt
Long sleeve flannel shirt (two of them near lower end)
Heavy Sweater and Light Sweater
Light Mittens and Heavy Mittens
Balaclava and Wool Hat

Wool or synthetic fleece tights
Wool socks (two pair near lower end of temp range)
Sandals

27<32 F (-2<0 C)
Tshirt
3 Long sleeve flannel shirts
Heavy Sweater and Light Sweater
Light Mittens and Heavy Mittens
Balaclava and Wool Hat

Wool or synthetic fleece tights
2 pair of Wool socks
Sandals

10<27 F (-8<-2 C)
Tshirt
Long Sleeve Thermal Undershirt
3-4 Long Sleeve Flannel Shirts

1-2 Long Sleeve Flannel Shirts

Light Mittens and Heavy Mittens and GoreTex Mitten Covers
Balaclava and Wool Hat plus hood of rain jacket or insert plastic bag between balaclava and wool hat
GoreTex or similar nylon Jacket that's usually a rain jacket

2 pair of Wool or Synthetic Fleece Tights
GoreTex or similar nylon rain pants
3 pair of Wool Socks
Boot Height Galoshes over sandals

Below that... I don't know.
