Comments:
I was hired by Holiday Statistics by Linda DelVeccio (one of the coordinators) and assigned to a position at Ann Taylor Fashions that I was told involved heavy MS Excel work and was a "ongoing thing" that paid fifteen dollars an hour and was for forty hours per week. As a college graduate needing real-world experience working with Excel, I immediately quit a filing position with Merril Lynch and left my regular agency so as to take this assignment.

After two abbreviated days at this position (where I mostly sat around doing nothing), the assignment was immediately discontinued. When I went back to Ann Taylor to retrieve some items I had left in my desk, a woman whom I had worked with told me that she did not understand why I was sent to this assignment and that a temp who was previously assigned to the position (and whom I had replaced) had quit because she also had mostly sat around doing nothing. I then had to go back to my regular agency so as to tell them what happened. They were understandably upset with me and I had to wait almost four months before I received another assignment from them. That same day, I phoned Mrs. DelVeccio and told her about what happened to me when I returned to my regular agency. Despite the unfairness of what happened, I received no consideration from her. She told me that "this is the risk you take when you temp" and that she was "surprised" to hear that I received a cold reception from my regular agency. Despite my excellent MS Office skills, I never received another assignment from Mrs. DelVeccio or Holiday Statistics. I had to apply for unemployment (which I was on for three months) and use my income tax refund to pay my regular living expenses.

The moral of this story: stay away from this agency, especially if you have good skills. They care little for their temps and they greatly exaggerate the job description of the more coveted assignments so as to attract people to them. They advertise in the N.Y. Times every Sunday (along with all of the other agencies), so if your eyes ever come across an advertisement for Holiday Statistics and their "addictive pay rates", skip it and go onto the next advertisement.
