Comments:
Benefits are impossible to get with Eden--supposedly you need 400 hours. After my first 400 hours, I walked in, and they said, you're hours went back to zero at the start of the 2nd quarter of the year! Even if you start on the first day of the quarter, you must work every single day of the quarter to be eligible for this benefit. I was lured to work for Eden due to their ad which stated that you would get a $100 bonus after working 70 hours. I repeatedly asked for this bonus, and have yet to receive it. This also happened to another temp I know, only the bonus he was unable to receive was the referral bonus. If I had the time, I would report them to the Attorney General of NY. Same attitude will occur should you ask for a raise. They will say yes, then say they never said yes. You will call at least 50 times trying to get your measly $1 raise or whatever. The counselor's find work fast for you and have a lot of work available, but will not look for the kind of work you desire. For example, I'm at my third non-profit, and have consistently told them I don't want to work for non-profits. Also a high turnover with counselors. If anyone asked me whether to work for them, I would definitely tell them to look for a better agency. A lot of the other temps where I work are from RAS and have good things to say about it. That's where I'm probably headed.
