Comments:
I got hooked up with the Laury Group when I moved to the city. They're small but have many big clients and, if they like you, they can keep you busy non-stop. Like almost all agencies, they can come across as a little slimy but, overall, they are a good group of people and I'd go back to them if I ever again need to temp. They also pay better than many other agencies. However, their focus is on long-term assignments and if you can't do one or are offered a full-time position through one (which they get a commission from the company for) and refuse it, they get annoyed. I also got the impression they don't like their temps working with other agencies. The owner/director, Laury, is a total facist in Dior knock-offs and if she decides she doesn't like you because of your hair, shoes, last name, whatever, that's the end. The company keeps people they want to hold on to busy in-house, which means working with Laury, one of the most horrible jobs in the city without a doubt. Still, as I said, I'd go back. The $$ is good and they have some great companies on their roster, all of whom love the Laury people they have used and hire them more often than not.
