Livermore Labs

Livermore is the home of the Lawrence Livermore National Labs, and the primary reason the Scheiders moved to Livermore! Tour their Discovery Center to see what it's all about.

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory conducts some of the most innovative science and technology research in the nation whether it's ensuring the performance of the nation's nuclear stockpile, developing capabilities to strengthen homeland security, cleaning up the environment, battling cancer, or deciphering the human genome.

The Laboratory's Discovery Center provides visitors with a window into our state-of-the-art research programs, computational capabilities, and experimental tools. Here you'll experience a broad-based display of our science and technology, as well as highlights of the Laboratory’s history.

Golf Courses

For the golfers in the crowd, there are two courses in town:

Centennial Light

Go see the Centennial Light, the world's longest lasting light bulb (108 years!). Or, just look at the bulbcam.

Near Livermore

Berkeley is about 45 minutes away

Half Moon Bay and beaches are about 90 minutes away
