I had been writing to Dennis about my woes in finding an apartment.

Well, the one really good piece of news is that I am now the owner of a bicycle. It's not bad. I had them put a basket on it, and I bought a lock; the whole thing came to about 85 euros. The only thing I notice wrong with it is that it makes a little ticking noise once each time I move the pedals all the way around; I need to figure out why. All the brakes and everything work just perfect. It feels solid.

Anyway, I didn't have time to ride around much yesterday, because I _had_ to do laundry, no question. Still, the little that I did ride around, it felt like I had grown wings. This will greatly improve my lifestyle here!

I called a couple more places about apartments last night. One is really too expensive; the cheapest they have is €600 a month. I wouldn't pay that kind of money for anything outside the old city (and even there only as a last resort).

This morning, I went to the closter, since I now have a bike to be able to get there and get to work on time. Another dead end, unfortunately.
