And so I start my nineteenth year at Panix.
I spent the morning working and taking care of some administrative chores– transferring a domain and some accounts that I’ve been handling so that other people will more easily be able to manage them.
I felt a little tired (both sleepy and physically tired) when I left to go to the office, but I perked up over the course of the afternoon. I’m still sleepy, but I noticed when I left the office that my pace was brisk and my energy was high. I had no trouble with subway stairs, or with the hill from the station to my house.
I have been eating a little better; I expect that accounts for it, and I’m very pleased.
Congrats on year 19! And glad to hear about the eating. Eating is good!
I am mildly surprised to learn that I’ve known you longer than you’ve been working at Panix.
First, that 18 years is just my official time at Panix– when I was actually hired and paid and such. I got my account in 1989, when I left Princeton.
Second, I was at Princeton when Idiscovered soc.motss, and went to the picnic at the Boston motss.con in, what? 1987 or 1988. I don’t recall when we first met in person, but we’d certainly have run into each other online.
I’m pretty sure our first face-to-face encounter was the Toronto motss.com (1991). The Boston con you’re referring to was in 1989, but I had just started reading the group about a month before, so I didn’t know that I should have wanted to attend.
I’m still thinking of you daily, Mara, and I’m glad you’re having quiet days and good energy. Many hugs
