Time of Appearance: Most of the year.

This crab will grow up to 4 1/2 inches wide. Reddish with closely spaced purplish spots, whitish to creamy yellow underneath. It can be found on rock, sand, or gravel bottoms, in estuaries and on open shores around the low-tide line.
