April 30, 1996

I had a mad burst of energy today and finished the storyboard, just meeting the original end-of-April deadline that we set a month ago. I wish I could work that hard all the time.

It's always exciting to storyboard the end of a film. Endings somehow seem to require a change of rhythm, making me want to modify my normal minimal approach and go for a moodier camera style. Why, I even got radical and included a dolly shot today, the only one in the film that isn't motivated by the movements of the characters. I'll probably wind up having to throw it out for budgetary reasons anyway.

Bill, Alex, Robin and I are off to New Orleans and Jazz Fest tomorrow, so the diary entries may not be as frequent for a week or so.
